    I have a very interesting Tilting Angle Vise Swivel Base Milling Machinist Tool with spherical rotating base made by Easley Engineering & mfg. In Ferndale michigan, the bottom says 148  pat. applied for the top with two locking screws ID IS 2" OPEN AND 3" LONG, once the angle is set you lock the Allan head bolt down to secure the sphere from moving, other than describing the physical item i can not tell you an exact year or the full purpose, possibly a proto type for machining. feel free to send your theory on what the item was intended for.
